That's right. We're moving! In anticipation of EZBoard's migration to Yuku, the Guild has been moved to our own server.

This board will be slowly phased out over the next couple of months. We would appreciate it if members could now take all discussion to the new Board.

Just letting everyone know that my computer is broken. I don't know why the images are broken and haven't come back up. I'll talk to my provider when my computer gets fixed. I'll try to at least check my e-mail and important Guild messages every day.

I hate rules. I hate that there is a necessity for them to exist here, but that's the way it is.
I see rules as a way to force people to do what they should be doing in the first place, being nice, considerate, thoughtful, and generally making use of tact and common sense. We're all human and we all slip up from time to time, but for the most part we act appropriatly without having to reference the rules for every sentence we write. This list contains the former members permanently banned from the Gryphon's Guild EZBoard.

Banning procedure is not set in stone, and banning used at the Admin's discretion according to each case.

Each case of banning is discussed amongst the administrators of the Gryphon's Guild EZBoard. There must be agreement of at least two of the three admins in order for a ban to be continued. In the cases of trolling or other immediate problems, or when members of the admin team aren't...

...The rotating seasonal banners? I remember a few peeps submitting both fall and winter ones last year or the year before and never seeing any change from the original summer ones. I dunno if that's because we didn't get enough submissions or what, but we should start that up again! Some of the newerish peoples probably don't even know it was ever going on. Maybe there just needs to be a reminder poke or something... but I was looking forwards to seeing the fall and winter banners!...

I know I'm not a regular member of this board, but I thought I'd share this. This could be useful information to keep in mind as you make your decision about moving, since it involves the Ezboard TOS; the very document they stood behind after the hack of 2005.

Mind you this information is assuming they did not have permission from Myspace first...and knowing them, this is entirely possible.

As some of you know, EZBoard is being migrated to Yuku.com.

Staying with EZBoard is not an option. EZBoard will not exist after the migration to Yuku is complete.

Rob's blog from March 14 says "We are not going to turn off ezboard.com at the end of 2006. We will turn off ezboard.com when everyone has moved to Yuku."

About Time to Retire

Well folks, I know it's been awhile since I've been spotted around again, but this time it's time for me to say that I am retiring from the admin spot. I've been at the Guild for oh... almost 7 years now I think, but only have been adminning the GryphBoard since its creation here at EZBoard when ITW was eaten by The Monster.

What does this mean? Well, transfer of adminship may go to the next chosen admin, but you still will have 3 wonderful admins, and a whole slew of perma and temp...

Well, I've seen this in use on other boards and thought it might interest the admin of this board.

Either as tradition or as policy, I've occassionally seen moderators typing [mod] at the beginning and [/mod] at the end of any post or section of a post in which they were acting as moderators. The impression you get is that they are putting on their uniform and doing the job that's been assigned to them, and the result seems to be a noticeably higher rate of cooperation.
