Some things in life you think will last forever, especially when you're little.
But as you grow older you realise they don't.
I though Grandad would last forever.
This was shattered the first time when he got viral encephalitis and almost died. He got through it but lost his short-term memory.
I was only about 14 then, it was in 2000 after I'd been to Florida for the first time.
About a month ago it was mentioned he could have prostate cancer.
Today he got the results of his biopsy, and I was cleaning the kitchen when I saw the booklet on the side.
Advanced prostate cancer.
Test results say it's aggressive and it may have even spread to his bones.
I'm trying not to cry. They have so many ways to treat it. It'll be okay. I'm sure it will.
Won't it?
Edit: The cancer is now definately in his bones and it's expected he has 5/6 years.
It's not fair.
